Student Feedback:
Mark B. Conn., "I took my son to DeWitt's as a first time shooter to learn about gun safety and the sport of shooting. I was very impressed with the facility but was even more impressed with your communication and teaching skills. We could not have had a better experience!
William H. Charlotte, "You turned me around 180 degrees on the first lesson and the subsequent lessons were just as informative and important as the first. I think any shooter at any level can benefit from a lesson with you."
Doug P. Oxford, "About a month ago I was ready to put the gun down and give it up, I had shot a 100 bird race and when I finished my right cheek was black and blue and sore to the touch and I had my worst score in two years. I could not figure out what was happening to me or the gun to make this happen. I called Rick because he was there and helped when Dennis Devault was fitting my gun. Rick told me to come on down and lets see whats happening, It took him only few minutes to notice it wasn't the gun that was wrong it was me. He suggested a few changes in gun mount and head position and then like clock work I was shooting again without pain and without the gun smacking me every shot, and the reward for all of that was with my head in better position and a little trust in the hand eye coordination I started hitting what I was looking at. We shot that day on the 5-stand at Dewitts and I hit 21 out of 25. Thanks a lot Rick for the help and time to get me straight, and thanks for the friendship."
In 2011, the N.C. Youth Shooting Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit charity was founded by Mr. Mitchell. It's purpose is to "...introduce shotgun sports to youths in grades 4-12, in a safe and closely monitored environment." There will be organized shoots from March through May at 4 shooting ranges, The Fork in Norwood, Deep River in Sanford, Drake Landing and of course, DeWitt's.
